At Strata, we build wooden puzzle kits designed to be pieced together slowly, with care. We take the same approach to your privacy — nothing rushed, nothing hidden. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Last updated: September 19, 2026.
The Information We Collect
To take your order, ship your puzzle, and keep you in the loop, we collect a few pieces of information:
- Contact details — your name, email address, and shipping/billing address.
- Payment information — handled entirely by our secure payment processors (see below). Strata never sees or stores your full card number.
- Browsing data — through cookies and similar tools, we collect things like which pages you visit, what you add to your cart, and how you found our store, so we can improve your shopping experience.
- Communication history — if you email us or chat with our support team, we keep a record so we can help you more effectively.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for purposes that make sense to you as a customer:
- Processing and fulfilling your orders, including shipping and returns
- Responding to customer service questions or issues with your kit
- Sending order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts
- Sending marketing emails about new puzzle designs or promotions — only if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe anytime
- Understanding how customers use our site, so we can make it better
Who We Share Information With
We work with a small number of trusted partners to run our store — and that's the extent of it. We do not, and will never, sell your personal information to third parties.
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which securely processes payments and stores order data
- Shipping carriers — to deliver your puzzle kits to your door
- Email/marketing tools — only for customers who've opted into communications
These partners are only given the information they need to do their job, and they're bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Your Rights
Wherever you're located, you have real control over your personal data. In plain terms, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that's out of date or inaccurate
- Delete your personal information from our systems, with some exceptions (like records we're legally required to keep for tax purposes)
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time, without affecting your ability to order from us
- Ask questions about how your data is used, anytime
These rights apply whether you're covered by GDPR, CCPA, or simply believe your data should be treated respectfully — which, honestly, is our starting point regardless of where you live.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep order and account information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns or warranty claims, and meet our legal and accounting obligations — generally up to 7 years for financial records. Marketing data (like email opt-ins) is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Browsing data collected via cookies is typically retained for a much shorter period, often just a few months.

We use cookies to remember what's in your cart, keep you logged in, and understand how visitors use our site. You can adjust your browser settings to limit or block cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as smoothly without them.
Keeping Your Data Safe
We rely on Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure to protect your information, and we limit internal access to personal data to only the team members who need it to do their jobs.
